Dr. Nguyen Nhat Linh is currently working as a medical officer at the Global Tuberculosis Programme, World Health Organization Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. Linh graduated as a general practitioner in Vietnam and he received postgraduate clinical training in tuberculosis (TB) and lung diseases at Hanoi Medical University. He obtained a Master of Science in public health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, University of London, and a Ph.D. in medical epidemiology from the University of Sydney.
Dr. Linh is a TB and public health expert with more than 25 years of experience working in Vietnam and internationally. He started his career in Vietnam, working as a physician at the National Hospital for Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases and an implementer of the National TB Programme. He spent 4 years conducting TB epidemiological research in Sydney, Australia for his Ph.D. He joined WHO in 2008 - firstly, as a WHO technical advisor on TB and leprosy for countries in the South Pacific region (based in Fiji Islands) - and since 2012, as a medical officer at the Global Tuberculosis Programme, WHO headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. Dr Chi Hieu Le graduated from Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST, Vietnam), Asian Institute of Technology (Thailand), Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium) and University of Greenwich (United Kingdom) respectively in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Systems Engineering, Biomedical Engineering and Higher Education. He is a Chartered Engineer (CEng), a member of Institution of Mechanical Engineers (MIMechE), and a fellow of Higher Education Academy (FHEA), United Kingdom (UK). Dr Chi Hieu Le is currently a Member of Advisory Board in Science and Technology for Saigon Hi-Tech Park, Vietnam, and Hi-Tech companies such as MD24 House Call (USA), Robot3T (Vietnam), and he is a CEO of VietSolutions (UK). Before working for University of Greenwich, he had been working for HUST and Cardiff University (UK) as a lecturer and a senior research fellow for 12 years. Dr Chi Hieu Le has been actively working in Higher Education (Learning, Teaching and Assessment), Research & Technology Development (R&D), Technology Transfer, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, especially in Innovative Product Development, Advanced Manufacturing (CAD/CAM/CNC, 3D Printing & Additive Manufacturing, Micro-Nano Manufacturing), Robotics & Automations, Engineering Management, and Biomedical Engineering (Telehealth, In-Home Healthcare, 2D/3D Medical Image Processing, Personalised Implants, Biomedical Hi-Tech Products & Services). Since 2000, Dr Chi Hieu Le and his team have been fruitfully collaborating and working with medical doctors and surgeons in Vietnam, including Central Military Hospital 108 and Cho Ray Hospital, in Biomedical technology transfer, and innovative development of Biomedical Hi-Tech products and services to improve the safety and quality of medical diagnosis and treatments, which were well-featured in Newspapers in Vietnam such as Tuoi Tre, Vietnam News and Tia Sang, especially innovative developments of personalised implants and medical devices for bone reconstructions and surgical planning. Dr Chi Hieu Le also served as a member of editorial boards for several scientific and technological journals, and frequently a member of the scientific and organising committee of international conferences. He is also a project evaluator for funding organisations such as Wellcome Trust (UK), The Royal Society (UK: Global Challenges Research Fund), Welsh Assembly Government (UK), NIHR – Invention for Innovation (i4i) Programme (Department of Health, National Institute for Health Research – DH NIHR, UK), and British Council. He annually serves as a visiting professor and an invited speaker at Higher Education Institutions in Vietnam, Thailand, China and Europe. Dr Chi Hieu Le is a co-founder of the Vietnam-UK Network of Higher Education, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (www.vuheie.org), which has been successfully secured at least 600,000 USD of the external funding for R&D activities in the last 4 years, with the active engagements and networking activities from scientist, researchers and experts between Vietnam, ASEAN and the UK, as well as the fruitful University-Business collaborations.

Phuong Nguyen-Tri is now regular professor at the department of chemistry, biochemistry and physics, Université du Québec à Trois-Rivieres (UQTR), Quebec, Canada. He is the founder and Head of the laboratory of advanced materials for Energy and Environment of UQTR. Recently, he has been appointed as Director of UQTR research chair in advanced materials for Occupational Health and Safety (OHS). He obtained a MSc in Ecole National Superieure de Chimie de Mulhouse, France and a PhD in material sciences at Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers of Paris, French in 2009. He worked then two years as a tenure track assistant professor position at Department of industrial polymers, CNAM of Paris, French. He moved then to the Department of mechanical engineering, Ecole de Technologie Supérieure (ETS), Montréal, Canada to take a researcher position at the Chair in Protective Materials and Equipment for Occupational Health and Safety and became a manager of this research chair. Dr. Nguyen-Tri worked as a research officer at the Department of Chemistry, University of Montréal, Canada, and then as an associate Professor at ETS of Montreal (2015-2019) before accepting a regular professor position at UQTR, Canada from Jun 2019. His main research interests are nanomaterials, hybrid nanoparticles, smart coatings, polymer crystallization, polymer blends, and composites. Dr. Nguyen-Tri has edited 12 books (10 from Elsevier) for which he is a leader a team of over 300 international researchers in these book projects and he is authored of 14 book chapters, 3 international patents, and published over 100 articles and conference proceeding. He served as an editor of 5 special issues in the ISI indexed journals. Dr. Nguyen-Tri is an Editor and Guest-editor for RSEM, PLoS One, SN Applied Science (Nature-Springer), Progress in Organic Coating (Elsevier), Polymers (MDPI). She founded Give Him The Light, an international charitable project that aims to save lives and solve problems of relevance to humanity. The fundraising went to the first case diagnostic of the baby with FEVR/NORI disease and numerous babies in need of urgent surgery in Nhi Dong Hospital in Vietnam, as well as to build the school and provide food for children in Ha Giang province. She also a member of the Board of Directors of different Vietnamese Associations globally (International Vietnamese Academics Network, Association of Vietnamese Intellectuals and Experts in Switzerland …) to promote networking, collaboration among academics professionals, researchers, and university students of Vietnam origin living in Vietnam and abroad. Recently she joins AVSE Global: AVSE – Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts in Digital technology and Knowledge city team to deliver strategy and approach for Vietnam sustainability growth in Industry 4.0.
Quy undertook her Ph.D. in Computational Biomedicine at the Rhine-Westphalian Technical University of Aachen (Germany), thereafter being a senior scientist and lecturer in Concordia University (Montreal, Canada) and Stuttgart University (Stuttgart, Germany), co-founded a start-up about enzyme innovation which got EXIST-Business Start-up funding from the German government. She earned an MBA from the EBS University of Business and Law (Germany) and being an entrepreneur after that.

Prof. Huan X. Nguyen received the B.Sc. degree with the Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Vietnam, in 2000, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of New South Wales, Australia, in 2007. He was with several universities in Australia and the U.K., and is currently a Professor of Digital Communications Engineeing, Director of London Digital Twin Research Centre and Head of 5G/6G & IoT Research Group within the Faculty of Science and Technology, Middlesex University, London, U.K. He is member of the Faculty Research and Knowledge Transfer Committee and is currently coordinating the UK’s Research Excellence Framework (REF2021) team within the department. He leads research activities in 5G/6G systems, machine-type communication, digital transformation and AI/machine learning within his university with focus on applications in digital twins, industry 4.0, and critical applications (disasters, smart manufacturing, intelligent transportation, e-health). He has been leading many major council/industry funded projects, publishing 120+ peer-reviewed research papers, and serving as chairs for international conferences (e.g., the recent PIMRC’20, ICT’19-’20-‘21, Heritech2021, SHM&ES2021, FoNeS-IoT’20). He is currently serving as a Technical Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Research and Development on Information and Communication Technology, an Editor for the KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Systems and the REV Journal on Electronics and Communications. He received USQ international research excellence scholarship award, 2008; Dean’s Commendation Award for Graduate Research Excellence 2008; Dean’s Award for Graduate Research Excellence 2009, USQ, Australia; the award for the Best Student Paper, the fourth International Conference on Rough Sets and Knowledge Technology (RSKT2009), Gold Coast, Australia.
His research interests in biomedical engineering and agricultural engineering. He has made significant contributions to the advancement of knowledge in the areas of biomedical engineering, specifically in extending the technology for monitoring the depth of anesthesia.
He is a research fellow in the USQ Institute for Advanced Engineering and Space Sciences (IAESS). In the last three years, he has been a key member of the strategic project “Computational models to enhance food security and decision support in agriculture” funded by the USQ.
